What is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a titanium screw placed into the jawbone to replace missing teeth. The implant, which integrates with the bone (osseointegration), functions like a natural tooth with a porcelain or zirconium crown placed on top. It is the gold standard solution for missing tooth treatment today.

Treatment Stages

1. Planning and Imaging

With 3D tomography, the density of the jawbone, the position of nerve canals, and the implant placement plan are determined. Positioning is done with millimetric precision using digital planning software.

2. Surgical Stage

The implant is placed into the jawbone under local anesthesia or sedation. The procedure usually takes 20-40 minutes. A temporary prosthesis can be placed on the same day.

3. Healing Period

The osseointegration process lasts 2-3 months in the lower jaw and 3-4 months in the upper jaw. During this period, the implant fully integrates with the bone.

4. Permanent Prosthesis

After healing is complete, a digital impression is taken and a permanent zirconium or porcelain crown is prepared. The treatment is completed with the final check and bite adjustment.

How Long Does an Implant Last?

With regular maintenance and check-ups, implants can be used for a lifetime. The crowns on them may need to be renewed every 10-15 years. We offer a 10-year warranty on all our implant treatments.
